The firm represents labor unions in the public and private sectors, including AFT-affiliated teacher unions such as FEA, UTD, BTU, OCCTA, PBCTA, CCEA; Transport Workers Union of America (TWU International) and various local unions, including those representing Miami Transit, Southwest Airlines Flight Attendants, JetBlue Flight Attendants, American Airlines maintenance and ground mechanics (TWU-IAM Association); Public Employee Federation (PEF) of New York, Teamsters Local 814 (New York), SEIU locals and benefit funds; IAFF Firefighter locals and health trusts; FOP lodges and health trusts, IUOE Local 487 and its trust funds; American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), including Council 79 and various locals; FOPE; UNITE HERE Local 355; and other labor organizations. The firm’s practice includes litigation in federal and state courts, labor arbitration, administrative proceedings, collective bargaining matters, and general labor and employment law representation.

The successful candidate will be more than a legal technician; they will be a passionate, strategic partner in advancing union missions and strengthening worker voice. The firm’s lawyers anticipate and understand the complex legal issues their clients face and work diligently to address these high-stake challenges. The attorney selected for this position will have the opportunity to:

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for high profile labor work including arbitration, negotiation, PERC and NLRB work and may at times serve as General Counsel to a union. 

Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes:

  • Belief in, and passion for labor unions and union values.
  • Strong interest in labor and employment law, particularly representing workers and unions.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years’ experience assisting in representation of labor unions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with union leadership.
  • Excellent writing, research, litigation, analytical, and advocacy skills. 
  • Litigation passion.
  • A smart attorney who completes work on time.
  • Experience in grievance arbitration, collective bargaining and NLRB proceedings, preferred but not required.
  • Federal and/or state court experience a plus (jury experience not necessary.)
  • EEOC, employment, public defender work experience a plus.
  • Active membership; in good standing with state bar. Florida Bar admission preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: 
Salary range: $125,000+ for candidates with approximately 3–5 years of experience.
