New Brookwood Labor College

Paid 1-Year Labor Fellowships

Based in St. Paul, MN

New Brookwood Labor College strives to address economic, social, and racial injustice by educating workers and providing opportunities to gain practical organizing experiences. We are based in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Minnesota Legislature has just passed some of the most union-friendly legislation since the New Deal, and it is an exciting time to organize service sector workers in our state. We are looking to recruit approximately 6 ‘Labor Fellows’ for a yearlong paid fellowship starting on or shortly after September 23rd, 2026. Fellows will learn about the labor movement on the ground, be trained to organize in the service sector, and assist various labor organizing campaigns with partners in Minnesota. Fellows will receive a sign-on bonus at hiring and a monthly stipend thereafter. All work will be performed in-person in Minnesota, in an array of locations outside of the Twin Cities Metro Area, and Fellows must relocate to the state if not already residing there.

The ideal candidates will meet the following criteria:
Preferred:

  • Experience in labor, community, or electoral organizing
  • Experience working in health care, retail or other service sectors

Must have:

  • Interest in strengthening the labor movement
  • Ability to work well in diverse groups and individually
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work irregular schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to live and work in locations outside of the Twin Cities Metro Area
