Education and Training Coordinator Description:
The California Work & Family Coalition is seeking an experienced organizer to help build our statewide education and outreach work. This is a two-year, full-time, benefitted position focused on working with a team to expand access to paid leave and adjacent laws and benefits that help workers take time to care for themselves and their loved ones. Duties include coordinating member organizations in an on-going campaign to improve the public responsiveness of key state agencies, recruiting and supporting community educators, and connecting organizations and people to Coalition trainings and resources. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with community organizing experience. Must be able to collaborate with teams of diverse groups and people toward a common goal. This job will provide an opportunity to support California workers and gain valuable experience in coalition building, organizing education and implementation campaigns, and learning about statewide policy work.

We are looking for a 40 hour per week commitment, with scheduling flexibility. The desired start time is October 1, 2022. This is a two-year funded position with the possibility of continuing beyond two years depending on future funding. Starting salary range is $62,000 – $67,000 DOE with excellent benefits including health, dental, and vacation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Independent and self-directed
  • Community organizing or campaign experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse people and organizations
  • Interest in learning the basics of CA family leave laws
  • Experience with or ability to learn NationBuilder (website, database)
  • Availability to travel within California

Desired Qualifications:

  • Speaking a second language – Spanish, Chinese, or Vietnamese is optimal, but not required
  • Living within easy driving range of Sacramento a plus, but not required
