POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITES: Working under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer and Lead of the Dues Department, this individual will be a part of the Dues Department which receives, reconciles, and posts members various forms of dues payments. Works with internal union staff and union signatory employers to address issues.

Examples of Duties:

  • Compiles, processes, maintains and updates membership records, status, dues deductions and adjustments.
  • Produces Membership reports for Internal/External Organizers using database.
  • Analyzes, monitors and reports on dues collection & inconsistencies in dues/fees deductions.
  • Produce monthly billing statements for Dues to provide employers and self-pay members.
  • Handles and documents all dues check-off issues with Employers and Self-Pay members.
  • Communication with members, Employers and relevant union staff to resolve dues related issues.
  • Maintains current tracking & filing system for Dues collection.
  • Produces written and typed correspondence, memos and other documents as required for this department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Graduation from an accredited college or university in relevant field or equivalent experience that would provide for the following knowledge of, skills & abilities.

  • Data entry and data management experience.
  • Experience with labor unions, union operations and union reporting requirements desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences, orally and in writing.
  • Professional Customer Service experience to attend to guests, members, and staff in person and by phone.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to maintain recordkeeping protocols.
  • Ability to effectively plan and implement work and manage time, as part of a team and individually.
  • Modern Computer and Online technology, video conferencing.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Suite, including Excel.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is generally performed in an office setting with prolonged periods of sitting and work on computer.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (written & verbal) is preferred, but not required.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Hourly Salary is competitive and based on Staff Union Contract.
  • Full benefits package including health insurance, dental, vision, a pension plan and paid time off.
