The Adelphi chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is dedicated to serving the needs of both full-time and adjunct faculty members through advocacy, communication and developmental programming.

Job Description
The AAUP, Adelphi Chapter is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Bookkeeper/Assistant Bookkeeper responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable and maintaining appropriate filing systems. The candidate must have experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and have excellent oral and written communication skills. The Assistant responsibilities include a variety of administrative and clerical tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate is flexible and responsible.

Qualifications

  • QuickBooks: 1 year (Required)
  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (Required)
  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain QuickBooks – accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Database maintenance
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Write and distribute emails
  • Order office supplies and research new deals and supplier
  • Maintain dues lists
  • Provide general support as assigned

Skills

  • Proven experience with QuickBooks
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18-20 per hour
