Staff Representative/Organizer

Based in Hartford, CT

CSEA SEIU Local 2001 is accepting résumés for the position of Staff Representative/Organizer. Local 2001 has empowered public employees in Connecticut for over 70 years. We are a strong voice for public service, with over 20,000 members throughout the state.

Staff Representatives perform a variety of duties including:

• Identify and recruit workplace leaders
• Engage members in union activities
• Process grievances and negotiate collective bargaining agreements
• Plan and implement workplace action

Qualifications:

• Willingness to work long and irregular hours
• Commitment to empowering workers through workplace organizing
• Ability to work independently
• Must possess a vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required

Labor relations and organizing experience is preferred but highly qualified entry level individuals are encouraged to apply. Bilingual preferred.
