Training and Professional Learning Coordinator
(Full Time)

Based in Quincy, MA

The Training and Professional Learning (TPL) Division supports MTA’s goals in the areas of organizational effectiveness and member empowerment. The TPL Division is seeking qualified applicants for the position TPL Coordinator, who will be responsible for assisting with planning, scheduling, promotion, tracking and evaluating training conferences, workshops and events. The selected candidate will also provide support for content development for training and professional learning programs and ensures the smooth operation of the division by providing administrative support.

The duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating and the promotion of training events, including conferences, workshops, webinars and online courses.
  • Assist in developing, improving and managing a growing library of print, online and multimedia training materials.
  • Collaborate with staff to create presentation and instructional materials, including draft materials and polished documents, slides, info-graphics, videos, etc.
  • Post training and professional development materials and media on the SharePoint Intranet for distribution to staff trainers and developers.
  • Create online registration forms, evaluation instruments and related items for training events and meetings.
  • Maintain records of member participation in training and professional development to provide certification of member continuing education units and to track the reach and effectiveness of TPL programs.
  • Conduct reports related to training participation, evaluation and budget.
  • Schedule scope of training engagements with school districts or local associations.
  • Keeps up with trends and improvements in office technology and in the area of instructional and presentation technology
  • Provide diversified administrative support.
  • Provide staff assistance to the committees assigned to the division.
  • Maintains confidentiality of association affairs.
  • Assists in preparation of special projects as assigned.

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with office and presentation design software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cVent, or similar event registration system a plus.
  • Familiarity with the VAN and the IMS member record management system a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, organize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exhibits a positive, collaborative attitude – a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative in identifying and fixing issues.
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with members and staff and vendors and consultants.
  • Willingness to travel and to work nights and weekends.
  • Automobile or personal transportation required.
