What We’re Looking For:
As an experienced Coordinator and Trainer, this position is responsible for implementing our New Employee Outreach (NEO) program for the members of WFSE, AFSCME Council 28. This position is responsible for coordinating with staff and member leaders to identify, train, develop and support member leaders to conduct successful New Employee Orientations using best practices. This position is also responsible for training initiatives that professionalize member skills and develops staff and member leaders to effectively carry out the strategy and purpose of the NEO program.

May assist with internal organizing campaigns at worksites to include both in-person and video conferencing. Works with WFSE Leaders and staff to develop a comprehensive NEO program for new members joining our union. Leadership development, member organizing, new member/new leader orientation. Additional duties include:

  • Conducts effective on-boarding and NEO sessions and monitors and evaluates the training program’s effectiveness, success, and reports to WFSE Leadership on the status of the program.
  • Trains staff and member leaders who are responsible for meeting with new members and explaining the benefits of our Union.
  • Researches and recommends changes or improvements to the program.
  • Stays current on new trends and tools in employee development and adult learning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a training coordinator or manager.
  • Experience in Labor Education.
  • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience conducting successful organizing campaigns.
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in leadership development, education, human resources or related field.
  • Working knowledge in MS Office (especially PowerPoint).

Special Note:
This position is overtime exempt and may be required to work some weekends. Travel is normally limited to the assigned area of responsibility. Must have a valid driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and valid vehicle insurance. Release of driving record required prior to interview. Out of state candidates must provide drive record at the time of interview. Benefits include annual and sick leave, cell phone allowance, medical/dental, life, and long term disability insurance, and holidays. Salary range is $76,685 – $88,773 and will be determined commensurate with experience.
