Position Title: Accounting Clerk

Reports to: Accounting Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

If this sounds like you, then join us as the Accounting Clerk at the Plumbers & Pipefitters National Pension Fund (PPNPF), where you will be an integral part of the PPNPF Accounting team.

The Plumbers and Pipefitters National Pension Fund is a multi-employer defined benefit pension fund established over 50 years ago. We are responsible for administering the retirement benefits nationwide for over 160,000 hardworking members of the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters and their families.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of data entry and clerical tasks. In addition you will apply PPNPF established procedures to prepare and maintain accounting records, as well as financial & technical reports. As an Accounting Clerk you will be expected to assist PPNPF’s Pensioners and Beneficiaries with all disbursement questions in a timely and patient manner.

If you have been referred to as a ‘master of all trades,’ have excellent organizational and communication skills; and are able to manage complex and multiple assignments with a meticulous attention to detail, then PPNPF is looking for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail; handle postal returned mail.
  • Performs data entry.
  • Verifies pension check endorsements; send follow-up letters as necessary.
  • Provides customer service via telephone and correspondence.
  • Prepares all accounting records for scanning and off-site storage in accordance with Records Inventory Schedule and Accounting procedures.
  • Performs work in a timely manner and ensures accuracy of data and information received.
  • Practices principals of confidentiality while performing duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School graduate with some college
  • Minimum 3 years related accounting work experience. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

SALARY: $962.00 per week

HOURS: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (37.5-hour work week)
