The DGA seeks a Contracts Administrator for its Los Angeles office. The Contracts Administrator is responsible for national oversight of the Guild’s Collective Bargaining Agreements which cover a variety of projects employing Directors, Assistant Directors and Unit Production Managers. The Administrator leads a team of Contract Coordinators, in the DGA Los Angeles and New York offices, to identify contract violations and develop organizing strategies to resolve them; though if necessary, through the contract grievance process. The Administrator will play a lead role in organizing initiatives including outreach to non-signatory production companies seeking to hire DGA members and finding ways to increase current members involvement. The Contracts Administrator is responsible for managing DGA staff, creating and overseeing implementation of member programs, analyzing issues in the commercial production industry, developing processes to solve new or existing problems, and build relationships with other unions, members, and producers in the industry. The position will play a lead role in collective bargaining process working for the Guild’s Eastern Executive Director and a Negotiations Committee of experienced DGA members.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a labor organization.
  • We seek applicants with prior experience in contract enforcement, preferably collective bargaining agreements.
  • Driven and self-motivated; able to work collaboratively, independently, as well as under supervised direction.
  • Highly organized and able to handle competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze information and frame issues.
  • Professional demeanor, ability to interface with Guild members and Employer labor relations representatives.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • A pleasant telephone manner.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A commitment to, and understanding of, the labor movement, collective bargaining, and union representation are required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
