Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Analyst
Department: Office of the General Secretary-Treasurer – Membership
Reports To: Membership Department Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Collective Bargaining (CBA) – Grade I-III

SUMMARY
The incumbent performs complex and challenging program and application support work. The incumbent works with minimal instruction or supervision and must be able to multitask, prioritize assignments and have the ability to quickly adapt to changes with departmental needs. Candidate must be well organized, exercise the ability to work independently, and collaborative. Advanced written and oral communication skills required. Incumbent must be comfortable working with executive staff, line management and administrative support staff. Incumbent must have an intermediate knowledge on how to generate reports, develop presentations, and spreadsheets. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe required. Proficiency with support desk management tools preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides written and verbal responses to support work orders, member, and affiliate telephone calls including but not limited to:
    • Membership Activity and Record Corrections
    • Life Membership Transfers
    • Death Benefit Processing
    • IMSe Training Inquiries
    • IUPAT Mobile Member Portal Inquiries
  • Provides first-level support and training for IMSe and associated membership software
  • Assist administrators and executive assistants with overflow work and mass mailings
  • Assists with creating system training tutorial documents
  • Query and format detailed membership reports as assigned
  • Performs data entry functions as needed
  • Contributes to team by accomplishing related work assignments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None

AUTHORITIES
The incumbent has the responsibility of properly addressing and escalating unresolved support matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent customer service, written, and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work with all staff at various levels
  • Punctuality and good attendance are required
  • Professional appearance
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Mail, and Adobe
  • Proficiency with support desk management tools preferred but not required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education with 2 to 5 years of general office experience. Computer literacy required. Union experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting of light boxes may be required in the course of organizing and distributing work in the office. Overtime maybe required to meet deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Use of the computer for approximately 90% of the day. Thirty-five (35) hours will constitute the regular work week. The working hours will be seven (7) with one hour for lunch per day. Flex start time window applicable (7:30 AM to 9:00 AM). However, flex window hours are subject to change to assigned start time(s) based on departmental needs. Dress code is business professional.
