Job Description:
Working under the direction of the local union’s Director of Organizing and Research, the Labor Researcher will produce work products for local union officers and staff that will enable them to make appropriate decisions throughout organizing campaigns and contract negotiations. Primary responsibilities will include gathering industry and corporate information to be used in support of organizing campaigns and contract negotiations.

Qualifications:

• Applicants should have a commitment to fighting for dignity and justice for workers and have a background in labor research methods, including a familiarity with sources of employer information and strategic and tactical use of this data.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred.
• They also should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to manage multiple projects while working under deadlines.
• Critical evaluation skills are essential.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Applicants having direct work experience in one or more of the following areas, corporate campaigns, organizing and the law, collective bargaining, labor and community coalitions and labor education, are strongly encouraged to apply.
