Position: Labor Representative
Location: Southern California
WHO WE ARE:
CNA/NNOC is leading the national movement for Registered Nurse power to transform the market-driven healthcare industry in the United States into a health care system based on patient need.
CNA/NNOC has provided support to environmental justice actions nationwide. In California we passed the historic RN Safe Staffing Law – the first of its kind nationwide.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A skilled Labor Representative who has experience in:
- Grievance and Arbitration
- Collective Bargaining
- Compiling, analyzing, interpreting and presenting pertinent data
- Creative methods of addressing workplace issues to build power
- Organizing campaigns
The ideal candidate would relish the chance to:
- Build strong workplace committees
- Develop local leadership
- Educate members about alternatives to corporate control of health care
- Mobilize members to fight against attacks on nurses and healthcare.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
The Labor Representative is responsible for:
- All matters related to collective bargaining, including organizing nurses in private and public employment
- Compiling, analyzing, interpreting and presenting pertinent data
- Ideally negotiating contracts
- Processing grievances and conducting arbitrations
- Representing nurses in employment-related problems
ADDITIONAL & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Insatiable work ethic and drive to create systemic change
- Demonstrated success at contract negotiations and arbitrations
- Prior experience as a full-time Labor Representative a plus
- Effectiveness in organizing membership participation
- Developing rank and file leadership.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Excellent salary depending on experience, and outstanding benefits offered, including comprehensive family health & dental plan, and generous pension.
