Early Learning and Care Representative

Based in Capital District, Central New York and North Country of New York State

CSEA, one of New York’s largest unions, is seeking resumes for an Early Learning and Care Representative. The ELC Representative advocates on behalf of union members who are registered family and licensed group family child care providers and informal child care providers across New York State. The representative helps to grow membership, and empower members and chapter leaders to be advocates for quality child care and implements collectively bargained agreements and related benefits. Responsibilities are throughout the Capital District, North Country and Central New York areas. Extensive travel is required.

Starting salary is $62,231 with a career ladder.

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in Early Childhood Education and a minimum of two years of experience in organizing and representing independent providers in a union or community-based setting OR a satisfactory combination of education, training and experience as determined by CSEA. Candidate must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License and car for business use in order to be appointed.
