Position Description:
The Senior Research Specialist searches reference sources and analyzes and prepares statistical and non-statistical data for reports used by the Strategic Resources Department staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives, organizes, verifies and records information for contract analysis systems and supports research projects as assigned.
  • Retrieves and produces reports based on corporate information secured from standard and computerized sources.
  • Assists department professional staff in analysis of data in spreadsheet, database and graphic formats.
  • Organizes and maintains the department’s Company Information Files.
  • Maintains periodicals and subscriptions for the Research Library, shelves and routes periodicals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years college-level work experience, including work in a commercial, non-profit or trade association.
  • Basic understanding of corporate structure and familiarity with industrial and corporate research sources and methods.
  • Ability to use Internet search functions, various spreadsheet programs, database systems and graphic packages is required.
  • Ability to utilize UFCW proprietary software programs such as contract systems programs, pricing programs, federal/state regulatory database programs, and others as needed is desirable; training will be provided to augment existing basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Input ability of 45 words per minute.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform satisfactorily in a position that requires informed, reasonable, and independent judgments based on available data and information.
  • Ability to read and comprehend search sources such as reference works, literature, documents, newspapers and statistical records.
  • On rare occasions, extended hours are necessary to accomplish deadlines.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.

Duration: This is a full-time position; posting closes when position is filled.
