The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is a trade union representing 600,000 active and retired members in the aerospace, defense, airline, manufacturing, transportation, woodworking and other industries in North America.

The IAM seeks to fill an Administrative Secretary, bargaining unit position in the headquarters Retiree and EAP Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. General office work
  2. Faxing, copy work & scanning
  3. Telephone management skills
  4. Maintaining correspondence / files
  5. Preparing memos, letters, tables, reports, etc.
  6. Transcribe letters
  7. Proficient at proofreading and editing
  8. Timeline / prioritize workflow
  9. Self-motivated and organized
  10. Assist staff in preparing for training classes and conferences
  11. Assist office staff with general office duties
  12. Interface with members and local & district lodge leadership
  13. Ability to adapt to different office environments

Qualifications:  Must have general knowledge or specialized experience encompassing the areas defined with the job duties specified above.

Skills Required:

  1. Designing PowerPoint presentations
  2. Curricula and training material layout & prep for final printing
  3. Microsoft Office Programs – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  4. Prezi, Adobe, Photoshop
  5. Apple based programs:  Keynote, Pages, IMovie, IPhoto
  6. Typing (at least 65 words per minute)

Salary: $34.36 per hour to start, and a comprehensive benefit package including employer paid family health care and defined benefit pension.
