Finance and Human Resources Coordinator

Citizen Action of New York is a statewide grassroots membership organization that fights for social, racial, environmental and economic justice. We organize in local communities to build power. We collaborate with organizations and coalitions in communities across New York to win on key issues and elect progressive candidates at the local, state and federal levels.

Citizen Action of New York is seeking a Finance and Human Resources Coordinator to work out of our Albany office. The primary responsibilities of the Finance and Human Resources Coordinator are to maintain the books of the organization and to coordinate human resources services for the organization’s staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Daily management of accounts payable, including paying and recording bills in QuickBooks and managing vendor inquiries
  • Credit card account reconciliation
  • Provide human resources services, including managing onboarding and offboarding of personnel
  • Participate in the annual audit process
  • Reconciliation of several accounts
  • Reporting to local, state and federal agencies
  • Manage payroll

An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • At least five years bookkeeping experience
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software for managing finance and HR tasks
  • Experience in nonprofit bookkeeping and an associate’s degree in bookkeeping/accounting is a plus

This position is full time, permanent, with an excellent benefits package. It is based in our Albany, NY office and reports to the Finance Director.
