Account Analyst

Based in New York City, NY

The Account Analyst provides support and service to 32BJ employers regarding member dues payments and roster maintenance. The analyst will reconcile employer accounts & rosters, process dues payments and respond to requests and inquiries. The individual will utilize advanced analytical skills to provide the highest level of service to 32BJ employers. The Account Analyst is a patient, positive and friendly person who enjoys working with people and exhibits excellent social skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • High quality, interactive, supportive customer service. The analyst listens to the employers’ requests/needs/concerns and works to find the appropriate solution.
  • Problem solving and offer solutions: identify problems and interact with internal resources to diagnose the issue, respond to concerns and follow up with a satisfactory resolution in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide ongoing education and information to employers in regards to dues processes & systems. Maintain and communicate accurate information.
  • Assist employers to process dues payments and maintain roster information using ESS portal.
  • Process lockbox receipts and allocate check payments utilizing the union’s internal database for processing and information.
  • Generate open balance reports for analysis and follow up with employers.
  • Prepare analytical review of employer account portfolios, manage and update employer roster changes and updates, run daily reconciliation reports for collections and continue communication with Employers to ensure payment is received for any outstanding Invoices.
  • Understand union membership and authorization card process and interpret union contracts.
  • Process dues and ADF cards as requested.
  • Assist with other duties and projects as needed.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School diploma required. Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to learn internal data and workflow systems required.
  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to utilize independent judgment in establishing the accuracy and reasonableness of information.
  • Ability to stay composed and work well under pressure.
  • Must be customer friendly and focused with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to successfully resolve and manage conflict.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Ability to adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability handling confidential material and information in a professional manner.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills, including effective troubleshooting.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to learn internal data and workflow systems required.

This is a full time, salaried position with a full benefits package, including a pension plan and fully employer-paid health coverage for full-time employees and their eligible dependents.
