Summary
Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional theater actors and stage managers in the United States, is hiring a Bonding Director in its North Hollywood office. Actors’ Equity is a national union affiliated with the AFL-CIO, with 51,000 members – and growing. The Bonding Director, located in North Hollywood, and reporting to the Comptroller, this position oversees the bonding process, which is to obtain adequate financial security, through the posting of cash bonds or other financial instruments, to ensure that employers meet their contractual obligations to employees working under Equity contracts and collective bargaining agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive, facilitate, and oversee the bonding process for all theatrical productions within the assigned jurisdiction
  • Work with Staff and Employers in order to meet all the requirements for posting a bond
  • Monitor the bond clearance process to ensure that all monetary claims made against an employer are satisfied before the bond is released
  • Confirm the validity of bonds through communication with financial institutions and participate in internal and external audits
  • Oversee payment of claims and the ultimate release of bonds
  • Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders to ensure that best interests of Equity and its members are well-served
  • Back-up bonding responsibilities in other regional offices
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
  • Experience with Microsoft CRM preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Experience working on cross functional teams
  • Being self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred
  • Two years of related work experience required
  • Accounting or Bookkeeping experience required
  • Experience in banking is preferred with a thorough knowledge of security, including letters of credit, bank letters, and other non-cash forms of surety

Compensation:

  • Starting Salary: $1075/week
  • Excellent individual and family health benefits
