Location of work is Project Dependent

United Steelworkers International Union seeks enthusiastic, mission-driven, and available Project Field Organizers for organizing campaigns in a variety of sectors, including higher education, manufacturing, and health care. Location of work is project dependent.

Job Description
Project Field Organizers (PFOs) shall work as part of a staff team to learn how to develop effective winning strategies in an organizing campaign. A successful applicant should have a strong commitment to building the labor movement and be able to work with community allies. They must also be able to build one-on-one relationships with workers and educate them about the benefits of unionization. They should have strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, lead, and build strong working relationships with workers. PFOs should be able to work independently within a team environment and maintain meticulously updated databases.

Extra consideration will be given to applicants with a labor background; relevant experience in similar campaigns, including building committee, developing campaign messaging, and independently running other aspects of a campaign; and expertise in Microsoft and Google products, as well as maintaining and building databases.
