The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) is looking for a Publications Specialist to work in our Research Department.
The IBEW represents approximately 700,000 active members and retirees who work in a wide variety of fields, including utilities, construction, telecommunications, broadcasting, manufacturing, railroads and government. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in publishing.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience reading and evaluating manuscripts or other content submitted for publication to ensure they are well written and logically structured; ability to adjust tone and arguments for a variety of audiences.
- Experience designing publications using InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience preparing documents and artwork for commercial printers; knowledge of file compatibility, font selection, and color theory.
- Knowledge of editorial, production, and printing processes and procedures.
