Assistant Counsel / National Field Representative

Based in Atlanta, GA

Two Assistant Counsel/National Field Representative positions are available in the National Treasury Employees Union’s (NTEU) Atlanta Field Office. The positions are in the bargaining unit and have a competitive salary and benefits package.

The Assistant Counsel serves as a liaison between NTEU chapters and headquarters. Travel is required. Duties include internal chapter development and organizing, chapter training, representing NTEU and employees in arbitration and other administrative forums, and membership recruitment. Successful candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas: preparing and presenting cases for hearings; legal writing, including post-hearing briefs; designing and implementing internal issue organizing campaigns; participating in representational election campaigns; and working with chapters and/or other organizations to build their membership and improve their operations. Successful candidates will also have demonstrated leadership capabilities.
