Health Benefits Specialist

Based in Albany, NY

The New York State Public Employees Federation, AFL-CIO, a union representing 54,000 professional NYS employees, is seeking to fill the following Albany based position: Health Benefits Specialist. Services for this position are required immediately.

Position Summary: Assist the implementation and recommendations relating to the health insurance programs made available to PEF members under collective bargaining agreements.  Respond to inquiries from members and union leaders related to health insurance. 

Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy or public administration with a health specialty, or a Bachelor’s degree with specific experience in health insurance administration.  Working knowledge of health insurance practice; ability to conduct trainings and workshops on health insurance related areas; ability to collect and assess statistical data on health insurance; ability to prepare detailed reports and analyses.  Salary $57,765 and above, depending upon experience.  Excellent paid benefits.
