ACCE seeks a dynamic online to offline organizer to build a base of California residents affected by inequality and structural forms of oppression, activate supporters, and win game changing campaigns.

Through online to offline organizing, digital organizers will engage residents across the state in campaigns ranging from census and redistricting, to Prop 13 reform, to housing justice and innovative anti-displacement housing justice strategies.

The position is full time.

The Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE), is a state-wide membership-based organization dedicated to raising the voices of everyday Californians, neighborhood by neighborhood, to fight corporate power, systematic racism and the economic and ethnic cleansing of our communities through profit-driven practices. Fueled by modest membership dues and a vast network of volunteers across the state, ACCE creates transformative change by organizing ordinary citizens to take action on issues such as displacement, gentrification, workers rights and the state budget crisis. ACCE is advancing the mission of organizing and empowering low-income communities to actively engage in the civic process, impact policy, and bring needed changes to their communities and lives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking an Online-to-Field Organizer to:

  • Build a broad base and strong leadership of Californians to support ACCE’s statewide campaigns through an online to field organizing model that includes social media communities, peer to peer texting, and field outreach.
  • Develop and build leadership committees to drive public and corporate policy campaigns through an inclusive process that develops their organizing and advocacy skills, generates bold actions, moves policy makers and educates the public.
  • Work with the staff and partners to organize actions, press events and prepare testimony for public hearings.
  • Develop the leadership of working people to share their stories with the media and online.
  • Build meaningful partnerships with community and policy allies to support campaigns, our members, and core organizing work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years organizing campaign experience, ideally using digital strategies.
  • Strong writing, research and communication skills.
  • Strong listening and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people as well as an understanding of the daily challenges faced by low-income communities of color.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate obstacles, discern priorities, meet competing deadlines and handle multiple projects.
  • Strong database management skills to inform analysis of the base and strategy.
  • Familiarity with digital strategies and online to offline organizing.
  • Ability to work varied hours including nights and weekends.
  • Must have car and be able to drive and maintain a valid driver’s license, and travel as needed on a regular basis.

Ability to speak and write in Spanish is a major plus.

Salary Range: In an effort to ensure pay equity, wages at ACCE are based on position classification and years of experience. At 2 years experience required the minimum starting pay for the online to offline organizer position is $45,000 – $55,000 annually with roughly a 2% bump given for each additional year of experience credited. Additional benefits include health care, dental, life insurance, and retirement contributions for qualifying individuals.
