Membership and Program Organizer

Washington, DC

Come help build and grow the premier organization of LGBTQ workers and allies in the United States. Founded by gay labor and peace activist Howard Wallace—a confidant of Harvey Milk—Pride at Work (www.prideatwork.org) is committed to achieving equality in the workplace and the laws of our land. The Membership and Program Coordinator’s role is to elevate the voices and issues of LGBTQ workers by organizing new Pride at Work members and chapters while engaging and activating those currently in our ranks.

The strongest candidates will have a worker or community organizing background, excellent communications skills, an outgoing personality, a commitment to justice for workers and LGBTQ people, and experience leading a team.

Other responsibilities range from managing a detailed membership database to representing Pride at Work at meetings and conferences in the labor movement and the broader LGBTQ civil rights community. The Membership and Program Coordinator will also assist with preparation for board meetings and a large-scale triennial convention.

Organization, attention to detail and the ability to travel, as needed, are absolutely critical. Public speaking experience and multilingual skills are desirable, but not required.
