Oregon Federation of Nurses and Healthcare Professionals (OFNHP) Local 5017 represents 5500 nurses and healthcare professionals in Oregon and Washington. OFNHP is an affiliate of the Nurses and Health Professionals division of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).
POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs advanced administrative work to support the OFNHP staff and membership with daily operational tasks.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage grievance tracking system
- Assistant to Internal Organizers (projects, photocopies, scheduling and meeting prep)
- Maintain telephone system: set up voicemail, phone training, order equipment
- IT computer/maintenance liaison with IT vendor
- Create and maintain filing systems
- Elections – work with Communication Organizer on member elections
- Projects – packets, photocopies, reports
- Maintain union-wide emails
- Database administration
- Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 to 5 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant
- Database management knowledge
- Proficiency with office programs including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
- Union or non-profit experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to perform accurate data entry
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced environment
- Ideal candidate would be energetic, collaborative, problem-solver, self-motivated and tech savvy
