Housing 2018 – Campaign Director
Based in Los Angeles, CA
The Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) is seeking a full-time Campaign Director to help lead a 2018 project to expand rent control across California, including through a statewide ballot initiative and several local city initiatives. The position is open immediately and will end on November 16, 2018. Following this project, a permanent position with the organization may be considered.
Salary & Benefits: Salary for this position is between $55,000 – $90,000 depending upon years of previous experience. ACCE uses a fixed salary skill based on responsibility and years of experience. ACCE offers a generous benefits package to all full-time employees.

ACCE is a multi-issue, membership-based community organization building the power and voice of poor and working families across the state of California. With offices in 6 cities, ACCE works in local communities and statewide to fight for economic, racial and social justice.
Position location:
This position will be based in Los Angeles.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of a broad-based statewide coalition and its committee structure
- Conduct outreach to diverse sectors to broaden and strength the coalition
- Help develop, drive and track the implementation of coordinated campaign activities by coalition members, designated staff and volunteers
- Implement and track a large-scale volunteer recruitment, training and support program
- Coordinate with campaign consultants and ensure strong communication between the various people and groups involved in the campaign
- Help ensure that this campaign supports the growth and development of the statewide housing justice movement
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-years organizing experience (labor, community or non-candidate electoral)
- Experience managing large-scale, ideally statewide, issue campaigns
- Independent and strong leader who can drive projects and programs to completion in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of issues facing low-wage workers, immigrant communities, and other communities of color.
- Experience building broad-based coalitions and working with grassroots organizations.
- Comfort with the implementation of a range of organizing strategies and tactics.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, results focused, and well organized.
- Ability to work well with diverse groups and populations,
- Position requires frequent travel and flexible work hours to accommodate campaign needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with political data, latest technologies, and best practices.
- Experience in campaign communications
- Bilingual Spanish/English, preferred but not required
