SEIU Community-Union Organizer (Temporary)

SEIU Healthcare Minnesota is hiring Community-Union organizers to organize low- to moderate-income communities and workers in Rochester. 

SEIU is building a national movement for social and economic justice by organizing and mobilizing workers, low and moderate income communities, immigrants and communities of color for power and social change.  SEIU is working in the trenches with grassroots organizations across the United States to hold corporations accountable to local communities, fighting for a $15 minimum wage and Union rights on the job. 

Duties: Work at community level to build grassroots social justice organizations.  This process involves door-knocking, house meetings, phone banks, mass meetings and action, action, action!  Marches, rallies, pickets, protests, sit-ins!!!

Requirements: No experience necessary, but a commitment to social justice is required.  Available to work week nights and some weekends.  Must have valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and a vehicle in good working condition.  Women, people of color, bilingual persons strongly encouraged to apply.  

Pay: This is a temporary position with a weekly salary of $600.
