Job Description:
National organization is seeking individual for full-time position of Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic Instructor. Position requires individual to have journey-person status and ability to teach disadvantaged youth ages 16–24. Previous teaching experience a plus.
Other essential qualifications are:
- knowledge of troubleshooting to determine equipment repairs;
- ability to do minor and major repairs on all types of equipment components/systems (electrical, cooling system, engine, hydraulics, undercarriage, etc.);
- ability to do recordkeeping;
- ability to interpret information from equipment manuals and order parts;
- knowledge of construction safety procedures and OSHA standards;
- ability to design hands-on training projects in a shop, field, and classroom;
- effective verbal and written communication skills;
- an accredited HSD/GED and computer literacy.
CDL and supervisory experience preferred.
Qualified applicants required to pass drug screen and criminal background check.
