Stacey Abrams for Governor (AFG) is seeking full-time Regional Field Directors to help elect Stacey Abrams for Governor of Georgia in November 2018.
We are looking for experienced, smart and aggressive self-starters looking to recruit, train and manage grassroots organizers across the state to elect Stacey Abrams the next Governor of Georgia. Regional Field Directors will be skilled managers, positive, solutions-oriented, willing to work long and irregular hours and capable of motivating a diverse team of Field Organizers.
Location: Field offices throughout Georgia
Term: Immediately through November 2018
Salary: $4,000 – $4,500 monthly based on experience
Benefits: Organizers will receive a monthly stipend for health benefits and up to $80 per month cell phone reimbursement
Reports To: Deputy Field Director
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Developing regional strategies and systems to meet monthly, weekly and daily organizing goals
- Working with Deputy Field Director to implement regional messaging and communication strategies and synthesizing feedback from the field
- Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, supporters and community members within respective regions
- Recruiting, training and managing a team of up to five organizers
- Liaising with community leaders, supporters, clergy and progressive coalitions
- Providing visibility for the campaign in the community and at events
- Assisting with other campaign related duties as needed with broader field team
Candidates should possess a strong commitment to progressive ideals and issues, excellent personal, verbal and written communication skills, and the flexibility and temperament to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing political environment.
Candidates should also posses the following:
- Goal-orientation and accountability
- Ability to work quickly and cooperatively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work well with coalitions and the staff and leadership of allied organizations
- Energetic outlook and commitment to the mission and grassroots approach to change
- Highly organized and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work long hours including nights and weekends on a regular basis
- A team orientation that combines collegiality and creativity to drive and motivate others
- One or more years of relevant professional experience including experience managing volunteers, interns and/or staff
The following skills are not required but preferred:
- Political campaign experience in support of an issue, initiative, or candidate
- Experience using VoteBuilder, TargetSmart or Catalist
- Experience using MiniVAN and/or Organizer
- Microsoft Excel and/or Pages proficiency
