CEA UniServ Insurance Representative

Based in Hartford, CT

A vacancy exists for the position of UniServ Insurance Representative with the Connecticut Education Association. Applicants for this position must have the ability to speak and write effectively, communicate and relate positively and dynamically with other persons and leaders, deal effectively with controversial issues, have the capacity for sustained effort under pressure, and be willing to work long hours, including weekends. Interested candidates must have the desire to support and advocate for the rights of public school teachers and the system of public education.

The UniServ Representative – Insurance position is responsible for providing advice, analysis and assistance around the issue of health insurance benefits at the individual, local, and state levels. This position will work with UniServ Representatives and local negotiations committees to assist with negotiations around health insurance benefit plans, will assist individual members with issues around health insurance benefits and will work with staff at the state level to strategically plan how to address rising health insurance costs on a global scale. This position will also provide training to staff and members around the issue of health insurance benefits and work with outside agencies, organizations and individuals to further our organizational interests around health insurance benefits.

Minimum education requirements must include a Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree preferred.

Salary Range: $119,627 to $159,036
