Assistant General Counsel

Based in Ventura, CA

The National Association of Government Employees, SEIU (NAGE), California Office located at 1819 Knoll Drive, Ventura, CA, is seeking applications to fill an Assistant General Counsel position in the Office of General Counsel, International Association of EMTs and Paramedics (IAEP) Division.

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admission to a state bar
• Labor experience preferred
• At least one year of post law school experience preferred but not required

Duties of the position:
The Assistant General Counsel (AGC) is responsible for assisting in the coordination and representation of litigation matters, representing EMTs and/or Paramedics, public and private employees at arbitration, the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and some state, federal and municipal administrative forums. The AGC may occasionally represent employees in state and federal courts. The AGC is also responsible for managing policy issues affecting IAEP workers.

• Some travel required.
• Relocation expenses will not be paid.
• Compensation based on experience.
