Budget and Research Specialist

Based in Salem, OR

The Oregon School Employees Association (OSEA) is accepting resumes from individuals that are interested in working for a labor organization in the capacity of Budget and Research Specialist. OSEA currently has one position open.

The Oregon School Employees Association is a membership-directed labor organization and represents employees working in Oregon’s K-12 schools, community colleges, Head Starts, education service districts, and parks and recreation districts. In addition to the Salem headquarters office, OSEA has eight field offices located throughout the state of Oregon.

Individuals submitting a letter of interest and resume for this position should include their educational background and work experience. Specifically, the job will require a Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, research, social sciences, or related discipline or five years of prior work experience performing research and budget analysis. Resumes should include applicant’s experience and knowledge providing budget analysis support to the field and to design, develop, and implement research projects and to create and complete accurate and concise reports. This position is responsible for determining methodology of conducting research and provides training to OSEA staff that performs research as part of their job duties. The Budget and Research Specialist position has a wide range of responsibilities in research, analysis, writing, presentations, and representation, which contribute to the goals and objectives of OSEA.

Budget and Research Specialist Information

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director, this position provides OSEA with research and analytical services on labor and education issues that include collective bargaining, public policy topics, and federal and state legislation/regulations. This position is a resource that provides training, guidance, and direction of research-related topics to the membership and staff and other related work as required.

SALARY/BENEFITS:
Starting salary $60,804 per year; health benefits; employer contributed 401k; and dental insurance.

JOB LOCATION:
The open position is located in the Salem Office. Selected candidate may need to relocate.
