Excellent Opportunity: Politics and Organized Labor with the International Association of Iron Workers!
The Ironworkers Political Action League is looking for a Political and Legislative Aide to help our 130,000 members win political victories across the country. The Aide will assist the international union enact its political, legislative and policy priorities on the federal, state and local levels. This position will be based out of Washington, D.C., with some travel. Immediate hire.

Duties
- Assist local union leaders and members with voter registration, fundraising requests, research and other political projects.
- Research and communicate political and policy-related subjects both verbally, in writing, and on social media.
- Advocate for and against legislation.
- Work in the field on high priority electoral campaigns.
- Assist in training local union political coordinators.
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the office.
- Organize political fundraisers and other events.
- Operate campaign software.
Requirements
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with and passion for organized labor and politics.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and take on time-sensitive projects.
- Occasional travel required.
- Ability handle projects independently while assisting the group.
- Microsoft Office: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license required.
