The New York State Public Employees Federation, AFL-CIO, a union representing 54,000 professional NYS employees, is seeking to fill the following Albany based position:
Temporary Attorney
Services for this position are required immediately and anticipated to last until February 16, 2018.
Position Summary: Associate Counsel will litigate in state and federal courts on employment-related matters in the areas of labor law, civil service law and civil rights on behalf of the Union members; will handle proceedings before administrative agencies; will defend individual members in contractual disciplinary arbitrations; and will respond to legal inquiries.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, admission in good standing to practice before NY and federal courts; experience preferred.
Salary: $ 68,418 plus longevities to be determined by experience. Excellent employer paid benefits. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
