General Information
The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) internship offers a unique opportunity for a student to gain direct experience in the labor movement. Our Special Projects & Initiatives Department uses strategic research for organizing campaigns throughout the US and Canada. IUOE Special Projects interns learn research skills that are in great demand in the labor movement and beyond.
Internships
An immediate opening is available for one (1) research intern to assist in current comprehensive campaigns. The intern will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director and will be responsible for quantitative and qualitative research focused on gathering and analyzing information on private corporations. Internships are for a duration of 10-14 weeks and pay a $350 per-week stipend. This is a full time position at our Washington, DC headquarters.
Qualifications
A commitment to social justice and a desire to assist working people in struggles to improve the conditions of their working lives. Experience with internet research, database and spreadsheet programs, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Clear and concise writing skills and the ability to organize and analyze information.
Eligibility
Open to college students, college graduates, graduate students and other qualified individuals.
