We all know that Unions are trying to work there way into Walmart these days.Lets say that one day they do make it in. Yes I do work there. However in my view when this happens I believe I should have a choice to not join a union while keeping my job.

If those Union workers end up getting paid better so be it. I think it would be a good idea for employee's to have a choice and for union and non union workers to have seperate contracts with the company.

Jobs are getting very hard to come by these days with everything going over seas. I think Unions current state of affairs are out dated and needs rethinking.

Hi Beasty101,

Thanks for posting on our site!

In response to the issue which was brought up; whether workers have the option to opt out of being a Union member and paying Union dues, is based on the State in which the worker is employed. - In 'Right To Work For Less' States, workers may opt out of membership, which weakens bargaining power for that worker and the entire Union. The workers who are Union members then have the legal obligation to represent ALL the workers (even those who never pay dues) and to bargain for everyone's compensation and benefits. - Big Business is the main lobbyist of this Union-Busting ploy. As a Non Dues-Paying member (Scab), a worker chooses to become a drain on his/her Union rather than participating and supporting it with involvement and financially in order to secure his or herself and fellow coworkers with the best possible contract.

Unions have any will continue to fight for the agendas their members choose such as imporved working conditions and fair compensation.

As an Employee of Walmart, I encourage you to become familiar with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, www.UFCW.org, which is the Labor Organization leading the campaign to help the workers there to organize and form a Union.

Fraternally,

Dustin
