I am working for a unionized company and we have our own local. I am really confused about one thing, union is there if management do something wrong with fellow employees or make some kind of stupid decision to increase there profits not thinking about employees. But when a fellow union member and employee of our company start spying on other members, instead of saving us, put us in trouble, what to do then. We can’t file grievance on him cuz none management error. Does it goes to human rights for privacy issues or i have to goto Labor Court against him.
If it goes to Human rights, who listen to my issues? Does it goes to Union President or Human rights members at work place will dissolve the issue.
Please help me out in this matter. I am really feeling scared to work over there and everyday feels like discriminated regarding color cuz i m east Indian.
Please Help me out |

[color=blue]Hi Preetksingh,
It's unfortunate that any members of a union would feel as though they are being spied on by fellow members. I would encourage you to contact your union office and/or company Human Resources first, and express your concerns. However, please be aware, whether union or non-union, there are people who 'tattle tale' in the workplace and report minor, non-issues to their Suupervisors in order to make others look bad so that they may, in turn, look good. The good news is, when they continue this behavior based on petty issues, that effect typically backfires.
Fraternally,
Dustin

Don't be afraid to call-out the supposed spy, maybe not in a big setting, but one with other outspoken union members to ask, "Hey what's up with such and such?"
Peer pressure can work, as well as, the cold shoulder. |
